Assess the Scar First
Scar texture, color, width, location, and surrounding hair density all affect the treatment plan. An artist should evaluate the individual scar rather than assume the same approach used on normal scalp tissue.
Start Conservatively
Because scar tissue can respond differently from surrounding skin, many artists prefer a gradual build. A conservative first session gives room to assess how the area heals before adding more density or intensity.
Choose a Shade That Matches Surrounding Follicles
The goal is visual blending. The working mix should relate to the follicles around the scar instead of creating a dark line through the treatment area.
